Hello Strangelings,
So the Hubby and I, decided to attend MonsterPalooza that occurred between June 3rd-5th. With over 450 vendors attending the con.. How could I not be tempted to go? Plus special guests like Tim Curry, Neve Campbell, and Billy Zane (and many more). I was sold.
I made a TikTok on it for ghoulish eyes to see here: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTdTUmCj1/?k=1
So let’s get into the things I wish I knew, shall we?
- The con takes place at the Pasadena Convention Center which is next to the Sheraton Hotel. My maps took me to the Sheraton Hotel and I was a bit confused but I saw people dressed up, so I knew that I was in the general area for it. This goes without saying, ( I will say it just in case) but you should get there an hour early! The parking lot was full and I was about 30 minute past the time it started on Day 1. So I had to look for parking in that area and let me tell you, for the area that its in you would think there is enough parking around, well, there is not. So please know to get there early and parking is limited.
- The lines and tickets were bit confusing. I recommend to get the tickets well before the day of, why? So because we waited to get the tickets for the day of, it turns out, you could only purchase the tickets in person and only for that day. When we got to the con we were told to go get the tickets and come back to the line that was super long behind the people who already purchased their tickets. When we were walking towards our way to purchase the tickets there were mini lines for panels and special guests like Tim Curry ( which were already sold out upon arrival). So again, get your tickets ahead of time and know that the are mini lines outside the con for special guest you wish to meet.
- Now this con has so much to offer when it comes to seeing special guest and vendors. I absolutely had a blast seeing makeup artists, streaming services like Full Moon Features which, I signed up for it and now Im watching some spooky throwbacks like Puppet Master, and of course people selling merchandise. There was also a museum and I saw the artist who made the Yoda Puppet used in the Star Wars movie. Again you can see this on my Tiktok link above or Instagram at Steffany_Strange. With all of this being said, the con doesn’t have a lot of panels, not a bad thing just know that its worth going for the cosplayers, vendors, and special guest.
So that wraps it up for this post. If you have any other questions please feel free to add a comment below or email me.
Till next time,
Steffany Strange.
